Will this Memorial be our last?
by pixel inthey just put up the march km 2014 on the private website.
most of it is same-old-same-old, with info here and there about the memorial.. somebody here might post the march km for all to see, i wont.. i just wanted to share the paragraph from page 2 q&a anticle: will you seize the opportunity?

Does the bible have a central theme? Does it prove inspiration?

there seems to be a general consensus throughout christian religions that there is a consistent theme throughout the bible.
the seeming evidence of a theme coming from a collection of books written by over 40 different authors over a period of 1500 years is what givse credence to the claim that the bible is an inspired literary work.

i don't know really, but i found it intersting.. especially interesting was how these men used the bible, they knew their message, they used an actual hard copy bible that has obviously been studied, and the older jw man, well, he was using a tablet.
it seemed cumbersome compared to using the actual bible.

JWs love to brag that they know more about the Bible than any other religion. But this just isn't the 80's anymore... In fact, as this video illustrates, JWs are finding it increasingly difficult to defend their beliefs because they invariably get schooled by guys like these... By the way, did anyone notice how these guys engaged in 80's-style JW "street witnessing"? You know, the militant kind that JWs used to practice when the "message" used to be "urgent" and/or "life-saving"... But notice how the passive "techy" old man quickly finds refuge in his tablet while the worldly preachers pounced on his partner... Really sad and pathetic... I'm sure they were both thinking to themselves: "Damn, we should have just kept walking and counted the rest of our time at the coffee shop down the street."

by Calebs Airplane inlurkers.... check your calendars... october 2, 2014 is only 500 days away.... look for illogical nu-lite from the wt in publications and conventions that will attempt to explain this away.. they've already bought themselves some time by splitting a "generation" into 2 overlapping generations... still, they have a lot of explaining to do... this should get really interesting... stay tuned.... .

Attention Governing Body: October 2, 2014 is only 940 days away...
by Alfred inin 1823, john aquila brown (a man who is not mentioned in any wt publication) came up with a bizarre mathematical calculation which totalled 2,520 years (in an unauthorized attempt to predict the end of the gentile times).... several religions recycled this bizarre calculation, including the adventists and the bible students... when armageddon didn't come on the variety of early 20th century dates predicted by several "dooms-day" religions of that time (including charles taze russell's bible students who predicted that the big a would start in 1914), they all finally realized that this 2,520-year calculation was nothing more than arbitrary mathematical speculation derived from erratic biblical extrapolation.... except for the bible students who continued to move up the date for armageddon 2 more times (1918, 1925) and then decided to use wwi as the starting point for the "last days".. all the while, one thing that seems to remain intact is the october 2, 1914 date.
oddly, for the watchtower bible & tract publishing cult, this particular date still marks the end of the 2,520-year period (that john aquila brown referred to in his bizarre 1823 book "the even tide")... again, no mention of this in any watchtower publication.
but, for jws, that date still remains the starting point for the period of time often referred to as the "last days" or even "the generation that shall not pass".. because of this, the governing body has been forced to change the definition of "the generation that shall not pass" countless times since the early 1970's.

Crimson... That's not what JWs think...
but for those of us who remember all the mid-80's Armageddon buzz in the JW community, it was not uncommon to hear elders and COs saying things like " Armageddon is only a few years away" or "this system will not go past 1999" or "the furthest away Armageddon can possibly arrive is 2014".... of course, they'll deny this now, but many of us heard these words mentioned from the platform, in field service, and in casual conversation... So here we are... At the threshold of the furthest possible Armageddon date...
(I do realize they gave themselves a way out by overlapping 2 generations and calling these 1 generation... but this must surely have a lot of JWs looking at their calendar more frequently than usual)

October 2nd, 2014: The World Ends Tomorrow, Taking all Bets!

tomorrow will be exactly 100 years since his historic announcment.. to commemorate this centennial occasion, i will gladly take bets in any amount of money that the world will not end tomorrow and that on friday, october 3rd, 2014 gmt, we will still all be here, for better or worse.. any die-hard jws interested in taking the other side of this friendly little wager?
still hoping the big "a" is coming tomorrow and your loving god, jehovah, is going to commit mass genocide and execute 99.9% of earth's population because they don't follow the dictates the 7 members of the "faithful and discreet slave," aka, the governing body of jehovah's witnesses?.
